About the Red Dragons Conservation Team
The Red Dragon Conservation Team is an Internation group of kids who are taking action to take stewardship of the Earth.
The Red Dragon Conservation Team was founded three years ago by Evan Green, then seven years old. Ever since he was very little Evan wanted to "buy all the land so nobody could build houses on it and take away the homes of the animals". Norm Gershnez and The Center For Eco System Survival in San Francisco had a way to do just this. CES uses community donations to purchase land in sensitive rain forest and coral reef areas. These lands are then privately held and cannot be developed, thus protecting the complex ecosystems and multitudes of species they contain. When Evan Green met Norm Gershnez of CES it was the beginning of a wonderful partnership.
The rain forests are the lungs of our planet and the coral reefs are the nurtures that enrich our oceans. There are many yet undiscovered species in these enviroments, many yet undiscovered medicines and much yet undiscovered knowledge about the way life is balanced and maintained on our beautiful planet Earth.
When Evan began fund raising for the annual CES Bowl-The-Planet event, he reported two surprising findings. The first was that other people cared as much for the enviroment as he did. The second was that adults would listen to kids.
He said "You don't have to be an adult to make a difference".
The discovery inspired Evan to share his new found power with his friends. That was the beginning of the Red Dragons Conservation Team.
In order in inspire others of all ages to do what they can and to feel empowered, Evan is "Going Global with the message that Every Little Bit Counts. He wants to give children a way to get involved, get behind causes they believe in and talk to and inspire each other.
From recycling to putting up bird houses, from fundraising, to local restoration efforts, big and small, every little bit counts.
